Brief Description:  Forward Fuselage

Today I began the miscellaneous things that need to be done before the F-770 side skins are riveted on. First, I riveted nutplates to the F-902 bulkheads where clamps for the fuel vent lines will be attached. Next, I deburred, scuffed, cleaned, and primed the F-684 bottom outboard gussets that go between the firewall vertical angles and the lower longerons. I then riveted the F-902 bulkheads to the F-7101 gear attach webs (photo 1).

I finished up the day by "pre-riveting" the F-704H center section side plates to the F-770 skins. The instructions have you only rivet the upper five holes on the forward side and all six on the aft side of the cutout. Drawing 28 calls out one size longer rivet for both bottom holes, but I don't yet know why, so I'm leaving both bottom holes unriveted until I figure it out (photo 2).
