Brief Description:  Forward Fuselage

Another two steps forward, one step back day...

I started by fabricating a new right forward skin stiffener from 6061-T6 angle stock. I then fabricated and drilled spacers and an angle clips for attaching the forward ends of both stiffeners to the F-704 bulkhead uprights (photo 1).

I then carefully measured and drilled the forward stiffeners for attaching the rudder pedal bearing blocks. I used 0.063 angles to position the blocks to ensure they would be flush with the outboard face of the stiffeners to which they will be attached (photo 2). A trial fit looks good (photo 3).

Now for the one step back. :O( I misinterpreted the detail for splitting the F-6115 center bearing block as a different view of the F-6116 outboard bearing blocks, and proceeded to saw them in two. This made sense at the time, as I thought it might be necessary to split the outboard bearings to install and remove the pedals after the stiffeners are permanently installed. Not so...
