Brief Description:  Center Fuselage - F-705 Bulkhead and Baggage Ribs

Today I riveted the F-705 bulkhead and baggage ribs to the center fuselage skeleton. I started by riveting the F-705 bulkhead to the four seat ribs that don't have baggage ribs directly behind. I then riveted the baggage ribs working from right to left so I could use the rivet gun in my right hand, and work without interference from previously installed ribs. I had to use the offset rivet set on all of the baggage ribs, as four of them have rivets in common with seat ribs, and even on the others, it was easier to rivet from behind.

I installed the right outboard lap belt brackets, but it looks like the inboard ones will interfere with riveting the bulkhead to the bottom skin, so I left the remaining brackets for later.

I also installed the remaining nutplates on the seat and baggage ribs, and assembled the seat rib access plates. I finished up by inverting and moving the skeleton to the sawhorses, then clecoing the bottom skin on. I considered starting riveting solo, but decided to wait on my riveting partner Hal Lyons to come over tomorrow.

Also tomorrow, a new builder who has just ordered his RV-7 empennage kit and has been following this log is coming over to check out the project.
