Brief Description:  2 - Fuselage Kit Inventory

Earlier, I had cracked open the fuselage crate just to take a look, but didn't have time to start the inventory. Today Karen and I started the inventory in earnest. We've accounted for all the big parts and subkits (1.5 hours), and hardware bags (another 1.4 hours). Tomorrow we plan to break apart the subkits and inventory their individual parts (and maybe get the 170 separated from it's shadow, weather permitting :O) ). I don't think I have room in my four parts organizers for all of the fuselage hardware in addition to the wing hardware, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with those yet.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the order of the packing list, though I'm sure it makes sense to someone at Van's. It seems the lion's share of time spent inventorying is finding part numbers on the list after pulling the part out of the crate. Karen and I sometimes had to scan the list multiple times before finding some parts. Even the hardware bags are scattered here and there across five inventory pages in no particular order! It would be NICE to have the inventory list sorted by part number, or at least an electronic list you could sort yourself.
