Brief Description:  Deburred Rudder Stiffeners and Skins

I started out the evening planning to dimple the HS skeleton. I got all set up, marked the top of the inboard ribs for the fairing attach holes not to be dimpled. I dimpled one of the HS-404 Nose Ribs, then remembered that I want to get prep and priming done before dimpling.

I decided to pick up where I left off with the rudder stiffeners and skins. I started with the easy part: deburring the stiffeners . I started to debur the skins without strippng the vinyl, but after a couple of holes I notced that the vinyl was interfering with countersink bit. Since it has to be done prior to dimpling anyway, I scored and stripped the vinyl off the rivet lines on the skins. This seemed to be a bit more tedious that the HS and VS skins, probably because of the number of stiffener rivet lines as opposed to the few ribs on the fixed surfaces.
