Completed fabrication of the F-712D up elevator stop/VS attach angle, including pilot holes in both legs.
Adjusted the vertical stabilizer for perpendicularity (62 5/16” from top aft corners of the VS to the outboard ends of the HS at the rear spar rivet line). Adjusted the offset (1/4” at the bottom of the leading edge). Adjusted the straightness of the rudder hinge line (aft end of top bracket of all three pairs contact a straightedge simultaneously). Clamped both spars to hold position for drilling.
Drilled F-712D attach angle to the VS rear spar and installed the bolts. Drilled the angle to the fuselage and left it clecoed for now. Drilled the HS front spar to the F-781 bracket and left it clecoed for now. Drilled the bottom row of holes in the upper half of the F-781 to the VS front spar. I’ll drill the rest off the fuselage for better access.
