Finished tapping flap pushrod tubes. I used the same drill table setup as I used to drill the tubes, but for tapping I removed both belts from the drill press drive so the chuck would be easy to turn by hand. I used a few drops of air tool oil for lubricant.
I thought one end of one tube had jammed with chips, so I backed completely out before finishing. On reentry I think the tap started a bit off and slightly damaged the threads, as the rod end is still a bit loose at 4 turns, where the others are snug at that depth. I will redo at least that one pushrod, but after doing some reading on VAF I need to decide whether to do aluminum or steel. In either case, I can use these while enlarging the holes in the fuselage.
