At this point in the manual they have you install the center cabin cover, fuel valve cover, and fuel valve plate. However, since I'm going with fuel injection, I can't complete the center cabin cover until it gets modified for the high pressure fuel pump and filter. I did some research today and decided to go with the Airflow Performance pump, filter, and installation kit from Vans. While waiting on that to arrive I went ahead and modified the valve plate for the Andair fuel valve, (Photos 1 and 2). I'm going with electric elevator trim, so I also went ahead and removed the triangular tab on the forward end of the valve plate used to attach the manual trim cable.
I installed nutplates on the plate, cover, and fuel valve itself, but did not install them on the aft flange of the center cabin cover where it attaches to the fuel valve cover. I think the aft portion of the cabin cover gets removed for the high pressure pump and filter installation.
I temporarily installed the Andair valve to the valve plate and installed the assembly in the airplane. The AN-3 bolts shown in photo 3 are just temporary to hold the valve; I'll find some more aesthetic fasteners for the permanent installation. I like how the valve looks so much I think I'll leave it there for a while. My next task is fitting the electric flap actuator, so the fuel valve should be safe where it is.
