Brief Description:  Prep for Shipping

Pickup is scheduled for Thursday, so I'm temporarily installing all the parts I can to secure them for the move. Today I installed the control column, sticks, and flap torque tube. I stuffed a rag in front of the lower arm of the control column to keep it from hitting the center section, then strapped the sticks to the flap torque tube to keep them from floppng around in transit.

It took some time to install the flap torque tube. First, I had to figure out that the bearing blocks need to go on the tube before the tube goes in the airplane. (DUH!) Then, after a couple of tries, I figured out that you have to start the tube from the forward side, then move the ends behind the F-705 bulkhead. If you go in from behind, the baggage area skin stiffeners interfere. Also, I think I drilled the holes in the bearing blocks at least one size too small, as all of the bolts had to be threaded their entire 2-1/4-inch length through the block.
