Brief Description: Baggage Area, Match Reaming Fuse Skins
I clecoed and match reamed the #40 holes through the F-750 aft baggage side covers to the vertical and horizontal ribs, then drilled the top and bottom flange attach holes in both F-724 vertical baggage ribs. The inboard hole in the bottom flange of each rib came out with inadequate edge distance (photo 2). I plan to replace these flanges with ones slightly longer, and re-drill. I have some left over 0.032 stiffener angle that should work fine for this.
I spent most of the time today making sure I've completed the instructions up to the point of disassembling the forward fuselage. I match drilled the aft vertical column of holes through the forward side skins through the aft side skins (photo 3). I did the same for the aft row of holes through the center bottom skin into the aft bottom skin. I then match reamed the side and bottom skins to bulkheads F-902 through F-706 bulkheads, F-7010 stiffener webs, and the baggage side ribs. All I have left is to drill the forward ends of the inboard F-772B forward floor stiffeners to the F-601J engine mount angles on the firewall, and install vent line attach nutplates on the F-902 bulkheads.
Top flange of the left vertical baggage rib drilled through the main longeron.
I plan to replace these flanges.
