Brief Description:  Center Fuselage

Nice weather in south central California today, so a friend and I took his Bearhawk over to Oceano, and were gone most of the day. Only a little time to work on the RV-7 before dinner, and the next item in the manual was to fit and drill the F-623 corner ribs. I futzed around with these for a while, and I'm not getting a good fit, so I think I'll spend a little time on VAF and see what others are doing. The drawings show trimming the flanges to fit the F-705 bulkhead, but the rib has a joggle in the forward end of the flange to fit inside the F-705, so I'm not sure what to do.

Instead of calling it a bust, I went ahead and clecoed on one of the side skins to check the fit of the right outboard seat rib. The centerline I drew on the bottom flange of that rib shows up through the bottom skin rivet holes, and the rib fits the natural curve of the forward side skin when that skin is clecoed to the F-704 and F-705 bulkheads, indicating adequate fluting of that rib, so I went ahead and match drilled it to the F-776 bottom skin.
