I finished trimming and drilling the replacement F-711C reinforcement bars. I then scuffed, cleaned, and primed them. It was very warm up here on the mountain today, so I left the bars out in the sun for a bit of curing. They got hot enough to be difficult to handle.
While the bars were curing I dimpled and riveted the F-712 halves.
I then riveted the F-711 bulkhead parts together and thought I'd done a fairly good job. I then noticed the note on the plans to not rivet the bottom holes through the bars for the tailwheel version. I got those drilled out with minimal fuss and thought I was done for the day. Not so fast! Where does this short angle go? Ah, yes, across the top of the F-711 bulkhead. Two more rivets drilled out, the angle riveted, primer touched up, and finally done.
