Brief Description: Fuselage Bulkheads
|
|
Today I finished setting all the rivets currently called for in the instructions for the F-705, -706, -707, -708, and -710 bulkheads, including all necessary dimpling and countersinking. I riveted the angle to the vertical bellcrank channel before I noticed in the instructions to not do so at this time. I found one builder on VAF who did the same thing, and finished his airplane without it being a problem. If it does turn out to be a problem, I'll seriously consider buying new parts rather than drill out 30 rivets...
When I was final drilling the F-708 parts originally I'd neglected to drill the static tubing attach clamp holes. I laid these holes out on one half of the bulkhead, and then clamped the other half back to back for drilling.
Also, I received my replacement material for the F-711C horizontal stab attach bars this week, and cut them to length in preparation for match drilling.
Rivets Today: 183 Rivets Total: 7816
