Brief Description:  Flaps

Today I finished drilling the FL-706A and FL-706B to the left flap skeleton and to each other. On the right flap yesterday, I had to unbend the FL-706B slightly, but this one fit perfectly. After disassembly, I enlarged the hole for the rod end bearing, and drilled for its nutplate.

I then dissassembled the left flap, and scored the skin rivet lines for vinyl removal. I then deburred the holes and edges of all skeleton parts and skins. While deburring the interior ribs I noticed I hadn't enlarged the single hole in the aft flanges, so I reclecoed the ribs to the bottom skin and main spar and enlarged those holes, including the shims. I also match drilled the inboard and outboard end rib forward flanges to the spar, and drilled the FL-708 shims to the lower skin and outboard ribs.

I finished up the day by disassembling the right flap, and deburred the skeleton parts and skin holes. I still need to finish drilling the rib spar flanges, and debur the skin edges.

Tomorrow I plan to finish drilling and deburring the right flap, then scuff and clean all faying surfaces on both flaps and prime them.
