Brief Description:  Left Wing

Today I installed the aileron brackets on the left wing. I had to countersink the bottom holes on the inboard angle on the outboard bracket and the outboard angle on the inboard bracket. The countersink tool wouldn't even come close to fitting, even with outer cage removed, so I chucked up the extension for my speed deburring tool in my drill press and installed my #30 countersink bit. Kind of tedious, but it's done. I then primed the bare countersink holes and riveted the brackets to the rear spar of the left wing. I had a serious smiley on one of the brackets and enlarged the hole drilling it out, due to the head being off center. It was bad enough that I had to enlarge the hole to 3/16" and install a #6 rivet (photo 1).

I then drilled the flap brace and aileron gap seal to the left rear spar. The inboard end of the flap brace gets trimmed before drilling (photo 2). I need to do some resarch to find out if I should drill these parts to the skins at this time.
