Brief Description:  Left Leading Edge Complete

I forgot to enlarge the tiedown hole before riveting the leading edge ribs to the spar yesterday. I checked the pilot hole with a drill bit, and it appeared to center in the tiedown hole. After drilling to 3/8" with a unibit, it appears to be right on. I was able to pull the skin out far enough that to prevent drilling into the tiedown bar. I only had to blow out the chips to make it ready for the tiedown ring.

I then riveted the leading edge skin to the spar - very straight forward. The only thing to remember here is the half size longer rivets where the main rib flanges intersect the spar flange.

Next, I decided to go ahead and prepare the wing root fairing screw holes in the main skins, wing walk, and ribs for nutplates now rather than during or after mating the wings to the fuselage. Since I have access to all parts individually, I dimpled the screw holes rather than machine countersinking them as called for by the plans. The worst that can come of this change is that I run short of countersunk nut plates - no big deal. I did countersink for the nutplate rivets, top and bottom.
