Brief Description: #8 Countersunk Screw Hole Finder
I wanted to go ahead and install the nutplates for the wing root fairings while building the wings. In case the fairings are not pre-drilled, I wanted to be sure I could locate the holes accurately. I built a hole finder out of 0.016 aluminum with the bottom hole drilled to #19 and dimpled to #8 screw size. The top hole is drilled #40 and concentric with the dimpled bottom hole. I added a "handle" made from some left over stiffener stock.
Dimpled hole in bottom sheet.
Concentric #40 hole in top sheet for locating pilot hole in a fairing or cover.
