Brief Description:  Clean and Prime Rudder and Elevator Parts

Cleaned and primed all remaining rudder parts, including stiffeners, ribs, and counterbalance and horn parts. A few parts also needed some deburring. Also cleaned and primed elevator stiffeners. Other elevator skeleton parts haven't yet been drilled, so they'll be cleaned and primed later.

One stack of stiffeners was nearby when I primed the skins a couple of weeks ago, and the top one got a substantial dose of overspray. I couldn't scrape the primer off with my fingernail, so I'm going to take that as evidence that I don't need to scuff the parts with scotchbrite. I will still do a solvent wipe, though.

I taped the simple alclad parts faying surface up to a large piece of cardboard so I could take the whole collection into the house for a day or two of curing after the primer solvents flash off. There are a few parts like ribs, the rudder brace, and counterbalance skin with more than one faying surface, and the rudder horn is not alclad, so I cleaned and primed those separately.

All rudder parts and the elevator stiffeners are ready for dimpling as required, then final assembly.
