I can just see it now. The "Assembly line" crew at UL Power in Belgium are all on their 3rd beer by 9am. I was the lucky one to have Mr. "Hangover" puting my engine together. 3 of the 6 oil squirter lines were leaking after the last flight due to the almost completely absent use of thread sealant on the NPT fittings. To plug the leak I had to remove 3 hard lines and re-install the fittings using Teflon sealant. Then, after re-installing the lines, the line fittings had to be overtorqued to re-crush the assembly to keep other leaks from happening, which ALSO happened. Now, my teflon sealed fittings are fine, but the hardlines are giving me issues that may or may not be fixable without replacing them. If that happens, I'll be removing all the hard lines and converting this EURO crap over to American made AN Fittings and SS braided line just like I did with the oil return hose. We'll see how it holds up on Monday's flight.
I also have begun to see leaks coming from the sump joint OR sump bolts. It's hard to know for sure the source so I've decided to try sealing ALL the bolts before pulling off the sump like I had to with the 390iS. I added a generous amount of Teflon thread sealant to each bolt, and at the same time torqued all the other bolts I could get to on the engine. If the leaks persist then I'll be removing the sump and adding a bullet proof layer of "great stuff". That stuff WON'T leak. And it will also give me the opportunity to inspect the crank and piston rods after breakin to see how well she's doing. But let's not go there yet. Let's say she's done being so leaky. :)
