Brief Description:  New rear main seal goes in and engine assembly beg

I'm not sure how many more bolts I have to remove before I've officially taken this entire engine apart :P Oh Well, today was a good day. I cleaned up the rear main seal housing to a like new condition. I then comparred the old Viton ring with the new Viton ring and could only tell a difference in color but no significant wear or reason why it would leak the way it was. I then installed the new ring which was a sensational machined press fit and took some real muscle to press it in. Still, I added a SMALL bead of Right Stuff RTV to the rear lip to absolutely guarantee a leak free installation. I then cleaned up the assembly and headed to the airport.
While the engine was off I thoroughly cleaned the engine and firewall area from all the oil and dust that have been accumulating and it was a lot. Really glad I got to do that. I began assembling everything stricly according to the manual, using the specific LocTite and torque values on each bolt. By the end of today I was able to complete the installation of the alternator and bolt the engine back onto the airframe.
Tomorrow I plan to re-coat the exhaust pipes in a matte black ceramic paint. They have been abused during all these engine woes and deserve to look as nice as the rest of the engine.
She'll be back in the air in no time!....and PS. I've got a couple propellor surprises on the way. More on that later :)
