Brief Description:  It fits! almost..

So, I assumed the plenum would need to have it's tube openings about 1" above the cooler but was wrong. In fact, just the opposite. The good news was that there was no contact with the sump. The bad news is that the exit tubes are right in line with the engine mount points. I cut the base off of the plenum, removed about 1/2" of material all around and re-glassed it using 2 plies of BID and now she should be just marvelous!
The first job this plenum will do is to direct the hot air OUT of the cowl using 2 short sections of 2" cat tubing. I will be adding 2 more 2" couplers to the cowl so that the air exits right out the sides. This, of course is not Ideal for keeping the air attached to the cowling, however, will tell me a LOT about the maximum efficiency of this cooler. IF temps go down considerably then I will know that air has not been getting out of the cooler very well. IF not, then I will try to pump the air INTO this new plenum using CHT Plenum box Cat tubes. If all else fails, a naca will be added to the Belly of the airplane and major construction will commence. This mod however will be very telling.
