Brief Description:  New oil cooler plenum

Rememeber that original 2" cooler plenum that didn't work worth beans? Well it just got hacked up. I cut off the top to use the base for a new plenum. The current install is pressurizing the cowl and "I believe" causing the engine oil to be sucked out of the breather tube. Sucks. Literally. Anyway, this new plenum will give me 2 options.
First, it will allow me to vent the hot air out through dual 2" hoses anywhere I want. This will give me a good idea as to how affective the cooler is when the EXIT air is actually exiting the cowl in a much more efficient manner. If that works wonders than I KNOW I can go that route and stay with a smaller cooler.
The second is one I'm starting to like even more the more I think about it. I would run 2" Cat tubing off EACH intake Plenum that is dedicated to the CHT's and run it into the cooler plenum. 4" of total tubing area is the recommended amount for this application and it will also help RAISE my CHT's, Lower overall drag, and equal the pressures across the plenums all at the same time. THis will also do away with the draggy belly scoop.
First, I need to see if venting the air cleanly outside the cowling will help and I'm convinced it will.
Here I used simple Green foam, some electrical tape and 2 plies BID with Peel ply. 30 minutes in the oven at 170 and she is ready to sand and install. Done!
