Brief Description:  Lower cowling framework is complete

Wow, today rocked. I didn't get to my large layup as hoped, but 7 hrs got me good. I was able to frame up the lower cowling completely. The most difficult part was the foam I used, being thin and flimsy did not create a very sturdy frame-up, so I had to carefully remove the cowling, apply strips of 2" BID tape on all the seams and then re-install her for cure. It was like working on an eggshell since I ran out of the white foam I was using for the upper cowl. But no loss as it turned out A-OK.
I've got some new ideas for exhaust routing that includes a "channel" to keep the exhaust blasts from being a shotgun blast and turn them more into a slug shot at the prop. Minimizing the blast zone will increase prop efficency for sure. Not sure if I'll do it now or later on, but I'd also need to design the exhaust pipes for a more intentional layout then just hacking the stock pipes up. This may require "designing" a new set of pipes, but still, they would be extremely simple. Not sure yet. For now I will most likely just hack em up and get them airworthy and do some oil flow testing for a baseline. One thing is for sure, this cowling is SEXY!
