The new cooler scoop will take on an entirely new shape than the current 2", however, this scoop and intake is definitely something that may come in handy down the road so I made a nice clean Fein tool cut and removed it. Stored the scoop away for maybe another idea. I then taped over a sheet of Balsa and taped it to the bottom of the cowling. I then laid up 3 plies of UNI on the bottom of the cowl to close out the scoop hole. With the new cooler location I will be able to now re-shape the bottom of the cowling to a much faster boat tail configuration which is a proven speed mod. I'm hoping it will overcome the added drag of the new scoop that will be made up. However, that mod will have to wait until I get to texas as I just don't have the time.
