I'm still undecided about how to build this cowling. I was going to add a thin layer of micro, sand to shape, then apply a second ply of Carbon on top. However, there were some areas I found that will need considerable micro so that would mean a very heavy cowling which is not an option. So I went ahead and used up the micro I had left and will sand this down to find how much is still needed after contouring. Most likely what will happen is that I will add Z-Grip until it sands to the EXACT shape I intend to use, then remove the cowling and wax it up really good. I will then layup 2 plies Carbon over this mess and make a much better cowling in doing so. A hot humid hangar with blood thirsty mosquitos makes this job a real patience tester and I haven't even started on the bottom cowling yet. It will be nice to remove this mold and layup the new Carbon here at the house in the garage. Tomorrow begins my week of Jury Duty, so it will be half days, but if I'm waiting on more Carbon to show up and Resin to cure then it may actually work out alright :)
