Brief Description:  Back at it again and full speed ahead

The last couple weeks has been a big timeout for Mr. Ez. First my computer motherboard died so the build log had to wait, then we got word of my wife's deployment date being confirmed, and then really bizaare COLD weather making it painful to be in the garage. Not to mention how bad the layups turn out when its that cold.
Anyways, I said goodbye to the soldier, replaced my motherboard and hit the garage again and now that I'm alone for 9 months I'll be spending an average of 50hrs a week to get this bird done :)

I've taken several pieces of green foam and 3M 77'd them to the firewall and spar. I then sanded them down to follow the contour of the body. This provides a base for the 6 ply Glass lip to be layed up on. Again I decided to mold the cowling to the body so the cowling will be the one to submit. I added aluminum tape to the green foam and proceeded to layup 3 of the 6 plies of BID. My thoughts are that I may need to add more layers underneath than on top so that I don't end up sanding into the glass when I begin finishing work. This will mean that the cowling lip may need modification, but it's hard to tell right now.
After cure I taped off 1.25" of glass and trimmed off the rest. So far I'm really happy with the results.
