Brief Description:  More work than expected

Of all the jobs I thought would be a snap, this one proved me wrong. I began by assembling the engines' coil switches and check engine light wires into a single harness. I did this to leave room inside the conduit for the massive power and ground wires coming off the battery. HOWEVER, After the harness was made and I moved on to the large wires, I concluded it would be better to leave them outside the conduit.
Originally I was going to run them through the firewall using the conduit, then out into the consoles but it proved to be much more work than I thought. Instead, I had plenty of real estate to drill access holes for the main power and ground wires. BIG 2 AWG is required in these birds. I oversized the holes in the firewall JUST a little, then countersunk them to keep the wires from being cut during vibration, but in hindsight I should have used grommets. Time will tell if wear develops. I'll be keeping an eye on em.
Running the wire through the finished consoles took a LOT of time. I had to fish them through some really small places, but ALAS they are in. Now all I need are those Giant terminal ends!
Once again, I'm pretty happy here even though that wire weighs a Good 10lbs at least!
