Brief Description:  Magnetometer location and brackets

The decision was made to place my Magnometer inside the baggage area for 3 main reasons.
1. This location is known as a good location, free of magnetic distortion.
2. My baggage area is larger than standard so I have the extra room
3. Locating it inside the wing would be a nightmare if maintenance was needed. Inside is better.

First task was to decide how to run the wires back to the GMU44 and after several things were considered, I chose a path that won't totally hide the conduit, but still offers the best protection from damage to the conduit and wires. I superglued it in place, then added a micro corner along the entire length. I then ran it under the fuselage skin and terminated it right behind the panel. Micro was laid over the exposed conduit where the skin was removed. After paint, it will fade away from view for the most part.
I then decided to build 3 standoffs using 3/8" PVC pipe and 3 sections of the Cozy Girlz threaded inserts which are not magnetic. They pounded into the PVC perfectly. This "tripod" if you will, will give me the base I need to hold the GMU44 in place and allow for small adjustments by adding washers. However, I won't be able to adjust Yaw, so I will take extra care when aligning it with the centerline of the airplane. This is a job for tomorrow.
