Brief Description:  Landing Light

The landing light install is not something I was looking forward to because of the small space I have to work with. However it's the only place that I prefer to install it. SO let's get to it. I made a template based on angle assumptions I came up with, placed it over the bottom of the nose and started cutting. I nailed the cut lines really well the first time according to the template. After installing the light and bracket I really struggled to find the best angle at which to mount the bracket due to the limited space I have in the garage for judging where the light will end up shining. I'm torn between having a lot of room to adjust the light and not wanting to cut out a large hole in the nose. I've seen some HORRIBLE landing light installs that should have grounded the plane on looks alone. For now I used 5 minute on the bracket in a place that I hope will be suitable. It won't be until later this week that I will have time to roll out the plane in the dark and test the landing light on my driveway. Until then the five minute will be all she gets. I'm also planning on enclosing the entire light inside the nose with only access to wires as the light is easily removed from the bracket on the forward side. Attaching the lexan will be another "fun" task. stay tuned...
