Read it and WEEP! This pitot tube is BADA$$. RV-Nation builds em, slightly pricey for a non-heated unit but has 3 major benefits. 1. 1-piece unit that can be installed flush to the skin 2. the base is round so making it "ground adjustable" in angle by loosening the bolts and turning the unit. This would be for changing the angle of attack. 3. It extends twice as far out than a standard pitot making the "Skid" maneuver more accurate when it comes to airspeed. OH and not to mention it is modeled after a fighter jet pitot :) Ok, So I used the template for install that comes with a Velocity aircraft as they mount their pitot tubes here. I placed the front tip in the same position as theres, Leveled it to the longerons and used a hole saw to cut out the 3" circle. The circle will be glassed in so that the base will sit inside the fuselage making it flush with the skin :) I will also be creating a mounting plate on the backside that will allow for adjustment in angle of attack mentioned above. TOO COOL!
