Well, cut it off is more appropriate :) I decided to locate the Vertical Power VPX Pro in the nose vs. the passenger seat. This means finding a spot for it and preparing it to handle brackets that will hold it in place. The nose gear bulkhead was a great place except, in the plans it angles down to accomidate the lame rutan Nose contour. I went ahead and cut off the top section 90 degrees to the bulkhead, added a piece of 3/8" blue foam and 2 plies BID to seal it off. Prior to puting in the piece of foam, I laid up the underside with 1 ply BID because it will be exposed to the elements anytime the gear is down.
