Brief Description: Air box cover, micro, and primer
I did something Vari bad today. I broke a rule. Shame on me. It all started when I decided to fabricate the air box hatch using a block of blue foam contouring to match the top of the box. The foam contour would create the perfect mold wrapped in duct tape and layed up with 4 plies of alternating BID and UNI. I then sinned.. :) While the Ez Poxy hatch was stil wet I mixed up a batch of West Micro and spread it out on top to avoid a second cure cycle. Worst case scenario it won't cure and I'll sand it all off, but I'm not worried :) After this I sanded down the oil cooler exit plenum and sprayed on a layer of high build primer that will later be contoured. I want the interior of the cooler to be extremely smooth for good airflow so it may even get a coat of epoxy primer. We'll see. A gel coat would be even better. For now, the primer will allow exposure of imperfections that need to be addressed.
