Brief Description:  Black is back people

A freakin miracle I tell ya. Inside the cowling there is barely enough room to breath let alone clear the chunky oil door hinge and hardware. I took a wild guess when locating my door and hardware and it was a Miracle! Home run install here. I cleaned up the oil door carbon lip and took the cowl to the airport for a dry fit before finishing work and found that had I installed any of it in any other place it wouldn't have worked. It's almost as if the plenums were designed around the oil door hinge and latch. SO COOL!
I then contemplated how bummer it was that the Black Wrap didn't work on my wheel pants but that I really want my gear legs and pants black so I decided to go ahead and prep them for black primer. At the same time, the cowls have no foam core so it's hard to justify setting of the HVLP to JUST spray the pants....soooo. why not the cowls too! I'm out of grey primer so what the heck. Plus it will allow me to see what the Black primer heats up to under the texas sun.
I spent the next 4 hours filling and sanding again on the cowls and prepped everything for a big ol primer session tomorrow. I won't be finish sanding the primer either with means it should have an almost identical sheen to the matte black wrap I wanted. This should be cool!
