Well, as Irony would have it, here I am prepping and painting the interior of the canopy...again. and as Irony will play its hurmorous games with me, I will need to re-paint it a 3rd time. Let me explain. After making the avionics panel cover I noticed that my canopy would not close properly. I originally shaped the underside of the frame to accommodate the GRT HXr 10" screen. Of course I didn't go that route so the shape is pointless. I determined that if I removed the outer 2 bulges then all would be well. I used the fein to cut out the carbon fiber and clear the foam. I then added 2 rounds of filler and 1 round of spot filler where needed. after sanding and contouring for a LONG time I went ahead and started painting only to find out that my contouing wasn't as good as I thought, but now paint was everywhere. I will be sanding down the areas needing filler once again, re-filling and hoping to catch luck on my 3rd paint job. The pictures don't show the bad lines very well so don't think I'm being TOO anal. :)
