Brief Description:  Wing Primer round 2

Today was 8 hours of meticulously filling any last low spots, blocking down as much as possible and prepping the wing for the 1st round of Grey primer. As always I was surprised to see the low spots trying to hide from me but really shocked to see how poorly level the leading edge turned out. I really missed the boat when adding filler to the outside portion of the wings leading edge. No worries, 3 rounds of filler and the leading edge was brought level with the rest.
A good acetone wash and she was ready for primer. Technically I have put on 8 coats of primer as of tonight however block sanding takes off almost all of it so it can't be viewed as "thick" by any stretch. I had a booboo on the underside of the wing where the "still curing" primer was resting on the wing stand, and when removing the wing, the primer went with it. I'm glad it did, in one sense, because I was able to see the build of the primer which proved to be very thin after sanding which of course is ideal: the absolute minimum material possible without sacrificing utility and integrity.

Big news! My amazing engine arrives next week which means my goal here is to have this wing finished and the shop cleaned up no later than tuesday night. I still have to prime the control surfaces so there is no time to be wasted. :)
