Brief Description:  Good enough for government work :)

SOOOOO I lied. Mr. perfectionist came by today and wouldn't stop talking to me...for 8 bloody hours! Anyway, I started blocking with 400 grit and found it took way to long to knock off the orange peel so I eventually went all the way down to 120 grit and started seeing better results. After accidently blowing through the grey primer into the black on a small corner I started thinking about going ahead with a primer -sealer coat that won't be sanded. I decided to do it. This meant hard blocking the grey for an even better contour.
At this point I believe the wing is as good as it can be without adding massive amounts of filler. The previous builder did a poor job on either cutting the wing block foam or laying up a flat upper skin. Either way a small mound in the middle of the wing meant the entire rest of the wing would be thick with primer to "rise to the occasion" if I wanted a perfectly level surface. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Heck I've seen Super Fast RV8's with wing skins that looked like it came out of a nursing home. Perfect contour cannot be responsible for big drag reductions. Therefore I'm going to call this contour job done. I've spent over a month finishing this wing and I'm ready to move on.
This wing is getting 2 final "thin" primer/surfacer coats as soon as more grey arrives. This coat will NOT be sanded but will take me through my flight testing phase and then be sanded prior ro paint. I've got a few areas seen in picture 3 where I've even sanded down to skim coat. Definitely needs some protection.
