Brief Description:  Ready for Primer

It's finally here. Time to spray Primer. I re-installed the aileron one last time to check for proper clearances at all moving points. I then sanded where needed and removed the aileron. I then countersunk the tie down point one more time to clean things up.
After tidying up I spent a couple hours block sanding 1 last time to make sure no hidden high spots or foreign material would show up. I then used a sanding sponge to dull any last shiny area to prep for the primer. After all this work I called my neighbor up and had him help me move the project around so I could designate a place in the garage for spraying. It took longer than it should have to set up the wing in the right position. I have no jigs and I don't want any touch up work so finding a way to prop it up without any foregin object or sawhorse getting in the way was a balancing act. At one point we almost dropped the wing but I'm glad he was there to catch it. I owe him one! Unfortunatley, at some point during the move, a very fragile tip near the rudder was chipped off so I ha to lay up a small bid ply and peel ply. This will be re-sanded and contoured in the morning. This however ended up being a blessing as I noticed right above it a Delam that I was able to tackle at the same time :)
Finally up and in position I started masking off the garage walls with plastic. I now have all surrounding areas covered, the wing de-greased, unwaxed, and ready for a tack cloth just before I spray. I also set up my cool new ventilation fan from harbor freight that should take care of all the nasty fumes.
Well off to bed...tomorrow is a big day.
