Brief Description:  Filler and Paint all over

Take a look at this beauty! The design of the canopy wasn't all planned out prior to construction, but was more designed along the way. Today I finally got to see the design function and it works fantastic! Today was spent adding filler to the Carbon which I really should have waited on due to the need for the cowling lip that will be added, however it was important that the forward section be brought to close tollerances with filler in order to complete the inside glass work. I got as far as 3 layers so far.

The second task tonight was to start painting and clear coating the firewall and brake accessories. First, the firewall hardware needed a good bath in alumiprep as they have been sitting around for 20 years. Still in good condition, the cleaning went great and I started painting the hardware Glossy White. All the firewall aft hardware will get gloss white. I added satin clear to the pedal rails and they are now ready for installation.

Note: I've finally got this painting thing down. With Rustoleum, I've seen that 3 or 4 LIGHT coats work best vs trying to wet it out. The paint is so thin, that runs are ez to get, but after 4 light/medium coats I've seen the paint lay perfectly flat and even all over. I'll be using this technique with the hammered paint as well.
