Sooooo, on the way home from RR this year I was just pulling out of my 212kt low approach headed back home and began trimming my role for cruise. I soon felt the roll trim knob get really stiff as if it was cross threading the Clevis. I turned it anyway and POP, the knob came off. WHAT! I flew home on Auto Pilot to save the forearm and put the bird away for the night. Today I went to investigate the issue and found that nothing broke, but the threads of the titanium rod were worn down significantly. I had another rod in stock as well as a new clevis and decided to take a more fine tune approach to the replacement. This time I'll be greasing the threads, and setting up the bellcrank with just a little tension. Not sure what the lifespan of the new setup will be going forward, but this one lasted 245hrs, so we'll give it a try. I also needed to repair the boot housing a little so perfect time and excuse to get it done. :))))
