Brief Description:  Pushrods and Canard install

The first task of the day was to finalize the canard install. I Installed the canard and torqued down the 2 main bolts which took some time due to the thickness of the 3/8" weather seal I used. I would have prefered 1/8" but I couldn't find any locally. No worries as I found with the canopy that after about 24 hours of compression, the weather seal gives up and relaxes a bit which will mean a COMPLETELY tight seal and flush lines. For now it looks Really good. I'll check the compression tomorrow.
I then jumped inside the cabin and found the sweet spot for my stick grip and tightened down the pushrod nuts in that spot. I then installed and adjusted the AP servo pushrod the same way I did on my competition RC airplanes making sure that the servo wouldn't have to work harder pushing vs pulling. I may even move the bearing to an inside hole on the servo arm to get better resolution if I see any "funny" oscillations while the AP is hard at work.
After finding that sweet spot I noticed that the Base of the passenger stick grip was wide and contacting the console. I "could" move it up but I really hate the position Rutan chose for this stick and I want it as short and out-of-the-way as possible. I ground down the base and shortened it and will try it out tomorrow as well.
The final 2 tasks tonight were to assemble the aileron hardware as much as possible. I finished 2 pushrods and left 2 open until the wings are on and proper position determines pushrod length. I'm still a newbie at riveting and it's noticeable but the rivets are done well enough. The second was cutting the Gary Hall Teflon hinges that solve the hinge wear issue. They're ready for install.
