Well, I decided to meet in the middle with my decision on Laying up BID tape on the consoles. The seats are a real tight fit and I'd hate to see separation of the console/ fuse intersection where the seat pressures are highest so I layed up 1 ply BID over a micro corner along the bottom of each console. This is of course in addition to the flox bead that bonds the console to the fuselage so it's pretty robust. I then added peel ply simply because I won't be adding filler to the areas that the seats cover so I don't want exposed glass snagging on the upholstery. I also noticed that the right rear console access for the stick grip was a little too small and there was binding at full deflections so I cut it out larger, cleared the foam and added micro around the inside. I will be adding a nice custom leather boot over this hole but I still wanted the foam to be covered rather than exposed. This is getting awesome!
