Brief Description:  Time to sand

Well it only took 5 HOURS to sand down this little section of flocro. Let me explain: Dry Micro is a walk in the park to sand. SUPER light and WEAK. I couldn't settle for that around the perimeter of the strakes so I infused the micro with Flox, hence the name Flocro and it's the first time I ever had. Little did I know that it would be like sanding concrete! I'm glad to know that superman can't put a hole in this section but MAN that was not fun. PLUS, I didn't wait until full cure so I gummed up some sanding discs earlier in the day which made it take even longer. Next time I'll give it 48 hours to cure prior to sanding.
I've sanded the flocro to be JUST under the wings edges to give room for skim coat and primer build up, hopefully making the transition super flush, however a change in incidence will negate all those efforts. I will also be taking a sanding block to both wing and strake transition points after flight testing and prior to paint but for now the gap will still look REALLY good compared to a lot of canards I've seen.

Note: Pic 3 shows wher I've removed the filler down to the carbon on the aft section of the turtle deck. This is where the 5 ply glass lip will be layed up for the cowling attach tab.
