Brief Description:  The top skins are on!

The first half of the day was all prep work. The probes were installed with dry flox and allowed to partially cure. The Fuel cap area was filled with Z-Grip and Sanded flush. I then went through the tedious task of Sanding EVERYTHING, then blowing out every nook and cranny and vent line with the shop vac, letting the dust settle then washing with soap and water, then wiping with Xylene. Phew.... ok, then I prepped the garage, laid up a small pile of dry flox on every baffle/ intersection/leading edge etc and CAREFULLY laid both top skins onto the strakes. I then clecoed them as usual, added 2x4's at the spar intersection and laid 50lbs bags on these. I then added a chain over the forward area to help get that last bit of flox squeezed out. After letting the flox flow a bit, I squeegeed the outside perimeter for a smooth transition from top to bottom skins. I then crawled up inside the fuse, reached inside the baggage compartment and made a tight flox corner around every edge.
I decided NOT to glass tonight because I really want to add a second layer of flox over this layer for a double walled seal if you will.
Today consisted of a HUGE job all while outside the Tornado Warnings were going off and the humidity in the garage was BARELY acceptable....Post cure coming soon!!!
