Brief Description:  Hinge point glass

It is Imperative that carbon fiber and aluminum are never allowed to touch each other, or any metal if you want to be really safe. The reason is that the carbon will corrode the aluminum and will eat it alive. NOT GOOD. Therefore, one must always place a fiberglass layer between the two. I've laid up 1 ply of UNI glass to accomplish this. Before the glass was laid, the previous carbon layup was trimmed, sanded, and prepped for the UNI. The aluminum hardpoints were sanded and acetone wiped as well. Flox was laid up in the corners to ensure a smooth transition and the UNI laid down nicely this way. After cure, the hardpoints will receive 2 or 3 layers of Carbon Fiber for tensile strength.
