Brief Description:  The 530iS takes to the sky with almost no issues

Well well. 9 Months later and she breaks gravity again. Today I had the pleasure of flying the new 520iS for a solid 30 minutes and it was wonderful. The engine only had 3 things I noticed that need attention and otherwise was a great experience. The first was an audible clicking noise that sounded a lot like lifter noise. It "could" be coming from the ignition due to a loose wire connection, but I'll need to investigate that. Either way, the lifters will be adjusted after the first 1 hour of accumulated flight time. The second was the sound of her back firing on final to land which actually sounded kind of awesome, and I'm curious if it's due to the pipe setup I'm running. I remember a P51 on final that sounded the same, so I'm tempted to leave it alone :) :) May also just be a rich mixture issue that I may tackle by hijacking the air temp sensor wires. :) The 3rd and final was finding a good amount of oil at the back end of the cowling. After removing the lower cowl, I noticed a very probable source of the leak being at one of my oil line fittings. The fittings on the sandwhich plate and also on the hoses are used and abused, so I'm not shocked by the leak, but it does mean I'll need to order new hardware, which means downtime when perfect weather has arrived :( Tomorrow I will investigate the leak further and may find it is just a simple failure of the DEL Seal inside. That would be great to find, so I can get her in the air again tomorrow and finish up the first 1 hour run!
All in all, the highlights were 1. Being pushed back in the seat like never before, 2. Climbing like a homesick angel, and 3. Effortlessly reaching 180kts without having the wheel pants on or even the ideal prop. I'm VERY happy with todays flight :) Stay Tuned for more detailed flight data!
