Brief Description:  Thank you hercules. Thank you Aluminum

This is so rad. With the new aluminum heat shield channels installed, I taped over the servo vent and went flying high and hot for 45 minutes. Not a single hickup. Problem solved. This now means I can remove the vent and clean up the cowling. YES! More clean air to the prop :) I also noticed something substantial. No, my oil temps are still too high, however, now that I have restricted the cowl exit, I'm seeing a reduction in my CHT's by 5 degrees. This tells me the restriction is working. I plan to keep closing it off and directing the exit air out towards the exhaust pipes which should help pull the air out of the cowling. I'm also now able to cruise 180kts TAS at 6100ft density alt. thanks to the awesome Hercules prop. My climb today averaged about 1100-1200ft./min. and for summer temps, that's fantastic climb.

Once I determine what the optimum exit area is for my cowling, I will most likely take on the tast of re-shaping the cowl to take advantage of the additional clean air I will be able to deliver to the prop. This may also mean going to a longer prop extension. We shall see!

I'd also like to mention that I did lose 2 or 3 knots on the top end, due to the canard tips I'm running. I plan to build new, proven tips that should help me push her even faster :)
