No Pics today but all good news. The Oil cooler Naca WORKS!!!!! I got to fly for an hour today testing the temps in the pattern and at 4k ft for cruise temps and I'm STOKED to say that with NO exit plenum and No VG's to help, my max temp was 243 degrees. Still high but not in the red. The really good news is that adding a set of VG's ahead of the NACA has proven to be affective in several other aircraft so I'm going to try that first. THEN, if I want even lower temps, I can design an exit duct for the oil cooler as well. With these 2 mods I should be well on my way to solving this terrible oil temp dilemna I've had all year. You could say I'm excited :) The second great news update is the addition of Marvel Mystery oil. HOLY COW. only 1 hour of flight and my pipes are a completely different color. Not to mention my prop is SUPER clean. This stuff is the real deal. I've heard crazy stories about how well it works with leaded fuel in aircraft engines but I wasn't expecting this kind of change after just an hour! I'm sold sold sold on marvel mystery oil. Now, off to the shop to build a set of VG's and a mockup intake plenum box :) The mood is good around here.
