I was doing little stuff in the hangar today with no intention to fly due to low ceilings, but as soon as I finished up my work, I check the AWOS and it said my ceilings were at 2700ft. Hmmmm. That gives me room to be 1000ft above ground and 1000 below the clouds....let's do it! Time for some fighter pilot flying. I headed out north of the airport over farmland and had the time of my life!! First time I've flown 1000 ft off the deck at WOT. Man I felt like a fighter! Army helicopters were everywhere so I really felt like I was in a war zone. Too cool! PLUS I was able to Hit 182Kts indicated! What? this is the fastest IAS I've seen so far. And that's at only 85% power!!! I've still got 300 rpm to go! Man I can't wait for that Catto prop to arrive because obviously this Hertzler is overpitched for my bird. Now all I can think about is a hard straight run with the Catto over water to see what she will do at just above sea level. Man ALL I WANT is to see that MASSIVE 190 show up on the IAS ribbon. After that I can die happy :D...oh wait, I still have to rig the plane and add a few more "low drag" mods. UL..... I Love you.
