Lots of Info today. I saw a great forecast in the weather and just had to take her up and try out the new oil cooler scoop. Unfortunatley, oil temps only got SLIGHTLY better with the scoop. I'm going to have to do some oil flow testing tomorrow on the belly to verify that air under there is smooth and going where it needs to. On the other side, I also have a hunch that it's not the air going in, but a restriction from it going out. The exit is really close to the prop and towards the hub where air can be very stagnant. Gonna have to report back on tomorrows findings. I also noticed cooling at 3000ft vs 5000ft was much better. Amazed at what only 2000ft would do to the temps.

However, there was good news today as well. First, the new elevator springs work TOO well. I will be able to reduce the tension which means an easier time trimming in the air. Therefore my trim wheel is officially a success!! More good news is that even without wheel pants I was able to push her all the way to WOT straight and level. She did over 200mph at 2950rpm. They tell me that wheel pants add 10 kts, and if that's true then after I get the wings rigged and everything smoothed out, this bird may see close to 190kts! I haven't even got the right prop yet! VERY happy ending to a high oil temp flight. Tomorrow will be a big day
