Brief Description:  Pins and needles today

The final stretch of finishing work seems to always take the longest when the work being done is small time consuming tasks like filling pin holes and finessing gap lines. It's work for the microscope really. But I put my patience hat on today and began tackling the small things that matter big time.
First was hand sanding the exhaust ports. Then prepping the cowl to fuselage lines on the upper cowling. The adding a few rounds of micro everywhere that was was obvious. Finally, I stepped back and realized I had done as much as I could, and having run out of paint rollers, and in no mood to prep the shop for a spray gun, I brushed on white primer on both cowls as a sacrificial coating that will be getting wet sanded later. The only thing bugging me right now is the shape of the exhaust ports in relation to the exhaust pipe exit angles. They don't match and it's kinda bugging me. History shows that something that bugs me a little ends up bugging me more and more over time. I'll wait until the pipes are in place to make the decision to change them, and it won't take much work to do it. I'm to the point now that I may very well be ready to trailer this bird out of here by the end of the weekend. :) Stay tuned for more of that good news.
